Founded in 1887, California State University, Chico (also known as Chico State) is a residential college located in the heart of downtown Chico. Built on land donated by the Bidwell family, Chico State began as a teachers college and has turned into one of the top regional public universities. U.S. News and World Report: America’s Best Colleges 2007 has ranked Chico State 4th among top public universities in the West that offer master’s degrees.

CSU, Chico has nearly 16,000 students and offers over 400 undergraduate and graduate academic programs. The three largest majors are Business Administration, Liberal Studies and Psychology. With a strong and respected on-campus recruiting program, Chico State graduates are highly sought after.
